Playing with Creative Ideas

Well my "Waiting" post hit our household immediately.  God put me on hold and took my computer to the shop....for 10 days.  Now I just want to post a fun post.  I will give thanks for His faithfulness and continued "waiting" rooms at the bottom of my post.

This year I have enjoyed pinning my ideas from wonderful blogs on my boards at Pinterest.  So below are some of the ideas that I have taken from my boards and brought to life in our home.

1st - Recycle the Thanksgiving Pumpkins
I took my silver-painted-stenciled pumpkins and turned them into snowmen.
The snowmen are gracing our Christmas table and even made a debut at Benjamin's Class Christmas Party.

2nd  Printing on Fabric -  I have been intrigued by printing through your printer onto fabric.  So once again I looked at a few tutorials and pulled out scraps of  drop cloth and went to work.
Graphics are free for downloading from The Graphics Fairy

A wonderful Christmas pillow for a very special lady...I hope she enjoys it.

3rd - Cookies!....well the cookies on Pinterest are just too much fun....so here they are

They were a huge hit at Benjamin's Christmas Party!  Melting Snowman!!!
4th - Left over drop cloth began my Christmas skirt...making it large enough to accompany a live tree also.  Next year I plan to have time to write scriptures that foretell the birth of our King.  This year it stays simple.

I love the idea of script scripture all around the skirt for next year.
That is it for my creative juices this season.

{Thanks to all that prayed for our daughter.  On December 3rd she had a grand-mal seizure.  This was a once in her life unexplained seizure.  All test came back clear.  They feel it was caused from lack of sleep and dehydration. She spent a week recovering and is now venturing into changing her lifestyle ....meaning slowing down!  If God places it on your heart I would love prayers for our son and daughter-in-law who will see another infertility specialist in another city next week.  Again....we are in the waiting room, praying for God's healing touch on both of these situations.}

Have an awesome weekend!  Enjoy the Reason for the Season - Christ

They look like lots of fun - both to make but for others to enjoy. I love the idea of printing on fabric, never thought of doing that - would have been so useful when the children were little.

Wow, what an impressive gallery! Love, love the printing on material and the final pillow. I saw those same cookies on Pinterest, what a fun thing to take to school, I'm sure you were the hit of the party. The scriptures on the tree skirt is something I might have to play with, excellent idea. Praying for you and yours this holiday season.

I'm pinning that snowman idea for next year. I also love the idea of the scripture verses on that tree skirt.

I stand in praise with you that God pulled you through that waiting room and gave a plan for slowing down and hydrating. I will be sharing this with Miss Whimsy when she gets home today. She did NOT take care of herself during finals week this year and really overworked her body.

I can and I will pray for your son and daughter in law. I was just telling my mom the other day that I think that particular wait is the hardest one that I know of. We waited with my sister.

May their waiting be anxious expectation.

Soooooo F U N !!!! I love all your pretty projects and am inspired to try the fabric printing thanks to your beautiful pillow. I plan on making those same cookies after Christmas when we'll be hosting an open house/farm bonfire party with a snowman theme. Your tree skirt is gorgeous as is but can't wait to see next years too! I also note we both use polka dot ribbons n toys on our tree. Wish I could come admire it all over tea while the kids played w/their tractors. Posted about your perfect gifts of cheer and comfort... Love you girlfriend!!!
Blessings to you and yours at Christmas,
Leslie

All your creative projects turned out great. Didn't know you could print from the computer and iron it on fabric. Special paper, right?

You have been busy in your 10 days without a computer.
That is so good.
Bye for now,

Janette, there are few people that I know who possess your creative juices! Love what you find, and how well you execute the final product!

Will be praying for the health issues in your family. Ah, slowing down and waiting - two of my biggest challenges.

I love the tree skirt - and I just know those verses are tucked in your heart - even if they're not printed out yet!!

GOD BLESS!

I have had so many thoughts reading this I am afraid I am going to forget something. First, I loved the melting snowmen cookies. My grandsons would love these...what is the melting frosting? Is is marshmallows? And we have the same sewing machine! A bernina 930...I really liked your tree skirt. I could soo use a new one. Did you use a pattern? The scriptures on it sounds like a wonderful idea! I like the pillow too.

Then, I don't know if I missed it or you didn't share it on your blog but I didn't hear about your daughter. I am sure that was scary for both of you. I will definitely keep her in my prayers. Glad it sounds like it is very easily correctable. And I will definitely continue to pray for your son and your dil. Yes, sounds like some waiting going on over there.

Much love to you this holiday season! HUGS

I love the cookies, Janette! Even my husband laughed. I am sure they were a big hit!

Your other ideas were equally delightful.

Still praying for your daughter. That had to be a very scary situation. Glad to hear she received the all clear diagnosis.

Hello Janette! You have been so very busy! I have wanted to try printing onto fabric but was really afraid about ruining the printer. I guess it really does work as your pillow is gorgeous!

The tree skirt is just lovely too. The melting snowmen are cute and so fun! And I was sad to toss my small pumpkins but never thought about a snowman transformation. I will remember that for next year!

Sending wishes for a joyful Christmas to you and your family!

I love Pinterest! I get so many ideas from there but don't always get to try them out. Those cookies are way too cute. I love that they aren't perfect. Mine would end up being messy; never like the photos. However, I know just where to go when I have time and energy to bake something special or create a special craft.

Blessings and love,
Debbie
